Your children have been busy making art and learning how to write an acrostic poem! I just put them up on the hall bulletin board so come on in and take a look!

We had a wonderful afternoon filled with many activities shared together with some loving grandparents and other special visitors! Thank you to all the grandparents and visitors who took time out of their day to make some very special memories with their grandchildren, neighbors and little friends. I would say it was a roaring success!

Parent Volunteers
Hello wonderful parents! I am starting a daily reading program in our classroom and I am looking for a few parent volunteers who would like to help our students with their reading. We would be doing rotations from 10:30am – 12pm and any help would be appreciated. It’s a great way to see and support all the learning that’s going on in our classroom!
You can email me at jroorda@highroadacademy.com if you are interested!

I hope that you have a wonderful weekend!
Here are the Spelling Words for the week of April 15, 2024:
Grade 1: well, late, that, them, white, paper, cut, its, it’s (it is), sick
Grade 2: side, outside, inside, oil, hard, from, noon, most, hang, cast
Challenge words: shall, should, would, test, care
***Please take a look at your child’s spelling test which was sent home today. I have noticed that many students struggled with some of the words even though we practiced everyday this week. It would be very helpful for your child if they could practice more at home with you!
